Imran vows to reform Pakistan cricket

Former cricketer and current Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has vowed to improve the Pakistan team ahead of the next World Cup.

Imran addressed a gathering of Pakistani-Americans at Capital One Arena in downtown Washington DC on Sunday. Pakistan failed to make the semifinals of the World Cup after some lacklustre results at the beginning of the tournament.

“After the World Cup, I have decided that I will improve this Pakistan team. I am going to reform Pakistan cricket," Imran was quoted as saying by The New Indian Express.

“There have been a lot of disappointments. Hopefully, in the next World Cup, you will see a very professional, best Pakistan team. Remember my words,” he added.

The Pakistan Prime Minister made several recommendations and suggestions during the recently concluded World Cup, including calling on captain Sarfaraz Ahmed to bat first against India in the World Cup match at Lord’s, an advice which was not followed by Sarfaraz.
