Former India captain and current Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly has undergone angioplasty today, Indian media reports.

An official at the private hospital where the surgery took place told PTI that two stents are likely to be implanted to clear blocks in a coronary artery of the 48-year-old former Indian cricket captain.

Ganguly had complained of chest pain on Wednesday and was taken to Apollo Gleneagles Hospital in Kolkata as per media reports.

Following the surgery, the BCCI president "slept well all night. He had a light breakfast," a senior doctor was quoted as saying by PTI.

The former India captain had suffered a mild heart attack and was admitted to the ICU of Woodlands Hospital in south Kolkata on January 2.

The 48-year-old cricket icon then underwent a stent implant in one of his three blocked arteries this month and was declared "stable and clinically fit" by doctors before he was discharged.
