Five members of SA Women's team test positive in Sylhet

Five members of the South Africa Women's Emerging team tested positive for coronavirus in Sylhet yesterday.

The South African team were scheduled to leave Bangladesh last night as they shortened their tour, dropping the fifth one-dayer against the Bangladesh Women's Eemrging team, due to the rapid spread of coronavirus and the nationwide lockdown from Wednesday

Bangladesh had won all four matches of the series.

All the members of the team took Covid tests at the MAG Osmani Medical College yesterday where five of them -- four players and the anager -- tested positive. The five individuals will stay back in Bangladesh for recovery as the rest of the team departed for South Africa.

The four players who tested positive in yesterday's tests are: Sinalo Jafta, Leah Jones, Nobulumko Baneti, Robyn Searle. Team manager Marsia Letsoalo also tested positive, according to reports.
