Easy path to tough Super 12s for Tigers in T20 WC

The fixture and match-ups for the 2020 T20 World Cup in Australia have been finalised, following the completion of the Qualifier event in the UAE, the ICC said yesterday.

Ireland, Namibia, Netherlands, Oman, Papua New Guinea and Scotland have secured their places at the event, to be held in seven host cities from 18 October, 2020.

Bangladesh will be joined by Netherlands, Namibia and Scotland in Group B of the first round while Papua New Guinea, Ireland and Oman will join Sri Lanka in Group A.

After the first round, the first-placed Group A team and second-placed Group B team will join Group 1 of the Super 12s, where Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand and West Indies will be waiting.

Bangladesh are expected to top Group B and if they do, they will be joined by the Group A runners-up in Group 2 of the Super 12s, which features India, England, South Africa and Afghanistan.
