News surfaced yesterday that Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Cricket Operations chairman Akram Khan was set to resign from his post. The former cricketer's wife had posted on social media on Monday regarding Akram's decision but talking to the media today, Akram revealed that the decision is not final yet.

"I didn't want to talk today but since you have already arrived, I have to say something. We took a decision as a family. Since I have been at the Cricket Operations department for eight years, I have received the most help from our honourable board president. He was with me during all the good and the bad times. So, after discussing the matter with him tomorrow, I will communicate my decision," Akram said.

"I can't tell you anything until I talk to him. I phoned him at 3 PM today but he didn't reply. Maybe he will call at any time and when he does, I will discuss the issue."

Akram took over the role of Cricket Operations Chairman in 2014 but was replaced by Naimur Rahman in 2015 before being reappointed in 2016.

"Since I have been at this role for quite a few years, there is a mental and physical toll and considering all that, I took the decision to take a break. Now I will discuss the matter before finalizing things but right now I can't say anything. I will take his advise and follow it," Akram said, revealing that BCB president Nazmul Hassan's will have the final say on the matter.
