Can Bangladesh clinch the series today?

A new-look Bangladesh side managed to outplay the reigning T20 World Cup champions England in the first T20I of the three-match series at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Thursday.

As the action moves to the home of cricket, the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, for the second and third T20Is, the Tigers find themselves in unfamiliar territory as they have a chance to clinch the series in the format where very few had fancied them to upset the visitors before the start of the series.

Before the first T20I, the two teams had faced each other just once in T20Is. The Tigers lost the contest comprehensively by eight wickets in the 2021 T20 World Cup at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Despite having played several ODIs and Tests at the SBNCS in Mirpur previously, this will be England's first T20I at the venue.

While Bangladesh have a youth-reliant and rejuvenated squad with no injuries, England have been depleted with the loss of batters Will Jacks and Tom Abell. It's all hands on deck for Jos Buttler's side as they would have just two players to choose from if they are to make any changes to the team. They are, however, expected to field the same eleven for the second match.
