Bangladesh asked to bowl in second T20I

Zimbabwe have won the toss and elected to bat first against Bangladesh in the second T20I at Harare today. The Tigers lead the series 1-0 following their eight-wicket victory in the first T20I yesterday.

Liton Das suffered an injury in the first T20I and did not come out to open the innings, has been replaced by Shamim Hossain, who will make his T20 debut for the national side. Mustafizur Rahman will be sitting out the second T20I owing to a niggle and has been replaced by Taskin Ahmed.

The pitch will be the same one used for the third and final T20I when Bangladesh chased down Zimbabwe's 299 with five wickets in hand. "It is a good strip and I felt that in the last game, we didn't execute our batting plans so there was no need to change our plans. We backed ourselves as a batting unit and put runs on the board and defend it," Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza said at the toss while adding that  Chatara and Shumba have been included for the second T20I with Ngarava and Musakanda out.

Raza also paid his condolences to Aminul Islam Biplob, who lost his father yesterday.

"We will like to pass our sincere condolences to Biplob and his family for losing his father. From me, the players and the management's side, I hope he finds strength in these tough times," he added.

Bangladesh skipper Mahmudullah Riyad also commented that the wicket is good. "Liton is injured so Shamim is making his debut and Mustafiz has a slight ankle niggle and Taskin comes in," he added
