Australia-West Indies ODIs to resume after Covid scare

The second ODI between West Indies and Australia is set to resume in Barbados today, two days after the scheduled fixture was postponed after a staff member from the West Indies' contingent tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday.

After the toss of the second ODI last Thursday, it was learned that one of the support staff of the West Indies tested positive for Covid-19. After that, the match was postponed in a hurry and all the cricketers, umpires, and match referees were kept in isolation at the hotel.

However, an AFP report confirmed yesterday that all 152 people involved in the ongoing West Indies and Australia ODI series returned negative Covid-19 tests on Friday. 

Doubts over Australia's upcoming tour of Bangladesh were also created after the postponement of the second ODI between Australia and the West Indies. However, there has been no change in the schedule of that series with Australia scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh on July 29 for a five-match T20I series against the Tigers. 

The third ODI of the West Indies and Australia series was scheduled for Saturday. However, now the second ODI will be played on Saturday and the final ODI of the series will take place on Monday.
