Opener Anamul Haque became the first player to reach the 1000-run landmark in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) and the Prime Bank batter achieved the feat in style by scoring an unbeaten hundred in their Super League clash against Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club at the BKSP ground-4 today.

The 29-year-old batter hit an unbeaten 112 runs.

Anamul, who scored 73 against Legends of Rupganj in the previous match to surpass Saif Hasan's record for most runs scored in the league since the tournament gained List A status in 2013, required 70 runs more to achieve the milestone in the match. And the wicketkeeper-batter continued his rich vein of form, notching his third hundred in the competition. Saif held the record with 814 runs in the 2018-19 season.

During his 84-ball knock, Anamul, who has been in and out of the national team since making his debut in 2012 and played his last ODI in 2019 against Sri Lanka, struck 11 fours and six maximums.

Bangladesh ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal, who scored 90 in the previous match, also continued his good form with an unbeaten 109 off 81 balls. Tamim struck nine fours and seven sixes during a boundary-laden innings as Prime Bank posted 234 for no loss to clinch a 10-wicket victory.
