Mohammedan bowlers brought their A-game on the reserve day and took wickets at regular intervals to hurt Prime Bank. Naeem Islam jnr grabbed his best bowling figures of DPL 2016 with 4-21 from 4.4 overs, his third four-for in this competition. He was selected as the player of the match for his incisive spells today.

At Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan No. 3 ground, Shamsur Rahman’s maiden ton in the ongoing DPL was not enough to prevent Gazi Group Cricketers from crashing to a 32-run defeat against Abahani Limited today.

Chasing 277, Gazi Group were rocked early, and were struggling 5-64 inside 13 overs. Shamsur Rahman held one end secured with his 136 off 130 balls. He struck 13 fours and three sixes in his blistering knock. The next highest scorer for Gazi Group in their failed chase was Faruque’s 29.

Taskin Ahmed of Abahani recorded his best bowling figures of DPL 2016 with 4-32 from nine overs. He removed Gazi Group’s top-order with a hostile spell of bowling. Abul Hasan and Rajat Bhatia picked up two wickets each.
