Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Dhaka last night as he was diagnosed with dengue fever.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) sports physician Debashish Chowdhury, who visited Mashrafe at the hospital today, said “Mashrafe has dengue. The tests conducted on him have confirmed that.”

“His platelet count is less. He will be there for at least a week,” the doctor said, adding that Mashrafe feels better now.

Chowdhury further said, “He just needs some time to recover.”

Meanwhile, Mashrafe was expecting to play in the National Cricket League scheduled to be started tomorrow. In his present health condition it is unlikely that Khulna will see Mashrafe in the team.
