An off day for Shakib

Ace Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan might have started the Pakistan Super League on a high, but he did not have a very good outing on the second day of the competition as his side, Karachi Kings went down to the Quetta Gladiators by eight wickets at the Dubai International Stadium yesterday.

Batting first, Karachi finished on 147 for seven. Shakib, who batted at number four, scored a 13-ball 17 and hit one boundary before being bowled by Mohammad Nabi.

A 29-ball 40 from Ravi Bopara towards the end helped them cross the 140-mark. However, some brilliant batting by the Gladiators, ensured that the target was overcome with 16 balls remaining. Shakib bowled four overs and finished with figures of one for 43. He got the wicket of Ahmed Shehzad in the 16th over.
