Mominul touches Sir Vivian Richards

Mominul Haque equaled the record of 50-plus scores in 11 consecutive test matches during the fourth day of the 2nd test match against Pakistan at Mirpur today.

Bangladesh's batting wonder from Cox's Bazaar scored 68 runs in the second innings of the 2nd test match and entertained the home crowd with nine boundaries mainly on the off-side.

Mominul is now on par with the great Sir Vivian Richards of West Indies as well as India's Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag.

Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar of India has 50-plus scores in 10 successive matches, which Mominul bettered today at Tiger's Home of Cricket.

Mominul's scores in the 11 test matches starting from October 2013 are: 181 and 22*, 47 and 126*, 8 and 50, 13 and 100*, 51 and 12, 3 and 56, 53 and 0, 35 and 54, 48 and 131*, 80 and 21, 13 and 68.

AB de Villiers of South Africa has 50-plus scores in 12 consecutive test matches.
