The Australia Cricketers’ Association (ACA) have released a statement on the ongoing Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) negotiations with Cricket Australia (CA).

The statement read: “The Australian Cricketers' Association (ACA) and Cricket Australia (CA) have been involved in discussions since Friday.

“The ACA confirms that agreement has not been reached for a new MOU.

“ACA CEO Alistair Nicholson said urgency in negotiations was required by CA, given the players have now been unemployed for 2 weeks.

"The increased involvement of CA CEO James Sutherland has been pleasing," Nicholson said.

"A better understanding has been established on both parties' positions."

The ACA will continue to communicate with players and relevant stakeholders over coming days.”

Both the CA and ACA have been preaching about the need to solve the pay dispute as early as possible.

The involvement of James Sutherland finally sees words backed up by substantial actions.

According to Cricket Australia website, negotiations have gathered pace in order to thrash out overdue deal.

Talks are expected to carry on across the weekend.

News Corp Australia reported ACA have withdrawn from their stance of having an independent mediator overseeing the process, indicating that there is more flexibility to the environment surrounding the negotiations.

Cricket Australia website says expectations have lifted that Australia’s two-Test tour of Bangladesh will go ahead as planned.
