Clarke backs KP for Ashes

Clarke said he believed new Stars teammate Kevin Pietersen could make a shock return for England before this year's Ashes tour.
Pietersen made 170 on return for Surrey and was Melbourne's leading scorer last summer as he repeatedly pleaded for another life at international level.
“I do think he could be at the Ashes,” Clarke said at the MCG on Friday. He's certainly scoring enough runs. From the Australians' perspective, I hope he's not playing because he's a wonderful player.”
Clarke said it was a luxury to have Pietersen at his disposal in the BBL.
“I've always got on really well with KP, I think he's a wonderful player,” he said.
