Fahad wins sub-junior chess

FIDE Master Fahad Rahman emerged champion in the 34th National Sub-Junior (U-16) Chess Championship at the Bangladesh Chess Federation yesterday.

Fahad and Anata Chowdhury had secured equal 6.5 points from seven matches before Fahad was declared champion in tie-breaker. Subrata Biswas, Kindgshuk Das and Nayeem Haque finished third, fourth and fifth respectively.

In the girls' section, Jannatul Ferdous became champion while Jhorna Begum and Nawshin Anjum finished second and third respectively.
