BCB to decide Anamul's PSL fate today
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will decide today whether they will allow opener Anamul Haque to take part in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final scheduled to take place in Lahore on Sunday.
Several international players including Nathan McCullum and Kevin Pieterson have backed out from playing in the final, which is expected to be a fly-in, fly-out affair, due to security concerns.
Speaking to The Daily Star, BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury said: “ We are yet to take a decision. We have to consider a number of aspects here. We have to see whether any other international player is going to Pakistan.
“One has to understand that we are also Anamul’s guardian and we have to think of what’s good for him.”
Anamul had requested for a no-objection certificate from the board and is waiting for a decision. Speaking to reporters he said that he would completely comply with whatever decision the board takes.
Bangladesh players, Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudullah Riyad had taken part in the first round of the PSL, which took part in the United Arab Emirates.
The final of the tournament though is scheduled to take place in the home country.
