Bangladesh beat Kyrgyzstan to win volleyball title

Hosts Bangladesh clinched the title of Bangabandhu Asian Senior Men's Central Zone International Volleyball Championship with a straight 3-0 sets win over favourites Kyrgyzstan at the Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium in Mirpur today.

The hosts, who had suffered a 2-3 sets defeat against the same opposition in a group match, exacted revenge in brilliant fashion.

Bangladesh took the first set by 25-22 points and followed up with a 25-23 point victory in the second set. The hosts were leading by 7-6 points in the third set when Kyrgyzstan pulled out of the match following an injury to one of their players, forcing the referee to declare Bangladesh as the winners.
