'We are slowly gaining confidence in T20s'

Mushfiqur Rahim was Bangladesh's most prolific scorer in the Nidahas Trophy T20I tri-series and he showcased outstanding form in a format where Tigers have struggled historically. After yesterday's heartbreaking loss it would have been easy to get lost in desperation as Dinesh Karthik snatched victory away from the Tigers with a last-ball six in the final of the T20I tournament. However, Mushfiqur was in a much more positive mood and he should be. Tigers made it to the final of a tournament which saw them defeat host nation Sri Lanka twice -- a side they lost to in the same format twice at home just last month in a 2-0 series loss.

Tigers arrived this morning at the Shahjalal International Airport and when Mushfiqur was asked what Tigers are looking to improve after getting so close to clinching the final, hesaid: "To be honest, we have not become that good a side in T20s till now. There are some things which we can of course improve upon and our team management and coaching staff are looking at those things."

He further suggested that Bangladesh are slowly gaining confidence in this format and vowed to come back stronger.

"At least there was this confidence that we were doing well in ODI and Test formats the last few years and on our day we can beat anyone. I think in T20 we are slowly gaining that confidence as well.

"We made it to the final and in that respect it does feel good but it is natural that everyone will feel bad after the defeat," he reiterated when asked what the squad felt after the defeat yesterday.
