U19s lose to India in quarterfinal

Bangladesh's U19s' batting lineup was once again exposed as they went down to India by 131 runs in the quarterfinal of the ICC U19 World Cup at Queenstown today.

India opted to bat first after winning the toss and were all out for 265 in 49.2 overs. A 86-run second wicket partnership between Prithvi Shaw and Shubman Gill allowed India to post a formidable total against the young Tigers. Shubman scored a team-high 94-ball 86 while Abhishek Sharma contributed with a 49-ball 50 that propelled India to 265 in the quarterfinal. Qazi Anik was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets while Naeem Hasan and Saif Hassan bagged two each.

In reply, Bangladesh were bowled out for 134 in 42.1 overs as KL Nagarkoti bagged three wickets. Opener Pinak Ghosh struck 43 but none of the other batsmen made any notable contributions.
