Bangladesh’s record of sixes

Tigers notched their highest haul of sixes in a T20 match during their record victory against Sri Lanka yesterday.

Before this game, their haul for most sixes in a T20I match stood at eight sixes – against New Zealand at Dhaka back in 2013. Against Sri Lanka the most number of sixes they had struck in a T20 match was six.

Yesterday, they overhauled their own records for sixes as Tamim Iqbal, Liton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim took the game away with fine shots. Bangladesh reached their highest haul of sixes with 12 big ones to their name in their chase of Sri Lanka's 214.

Liton's fiery innings at the top of the innings saw him hit five sixes. Tamim, Ziaur Rahman and Nazimuddin had previously attained the feat of hitting five sixes during a T20I match for the Tigers.

Mushfiqur Rahim who struck a match winning 72 off 35 ball struck four sixes yesterday, while Tamim, Mahmudullah Riyad and Soumya Sarkar hit one six each in their of total of 12 sixes.
