Tigresses eye final

The Bangladesh women's cricket team, led by Salma Khatun, left the city yesterday morning for Kuala Lumpur to take part in the Asia Cup T20.

Captain Salma Khatun expressed her hope of reaching the final of the six-team regional tournament. "If we can play our best cricket then it would be possible for us to play the final of the tournament," said Salma on the eve of their departure.

Bangladesh will open their campaign against Sri Lanka on June 3 at 8:00am at the Royal Selangor Club, which along with the Kinara Oval form the two venues for the tournament.  They will play against Pakistan the next day, take on India on June 6, Thailand on June 7 and Malaysia on June 9.
