Tamim Iqbal, the man from Chittagong was in fine touch this morning as he picked up a fifty off just 46 balls.

Playing at his home, Tamim was in a belligerent mode but at the same time looked comfortable against the Lankan attack. He did give a chance to the Lankans as early as the second over, when he pushed at a Lahiru Kumara delivery that pitched on off stump. The ball went past the second slip and for four. Tamim proceeded to hit fours off the next two deliveries as well, indicating that he was not going to let the bowlers dictate proceedings.

That proved to be the motif of the morning session as Tamim hit six fours and one six during his 53-ball 52. He fell to Dilruwan Perera, who went through the batsman's defences to bowl him out.
