Shakib’s Kerala Kings through to the semis

Shakib Al Hasan's Kerala Kings defeated Team Sri-Lanka by eight wickets to seal their semifinal berth in the T10 cricket tournament being played at Sharjah.

Batting first, Team Sri Lanka posted 112 for the loss of two wickets from 10 overs, courtesy of a 24-ball 38 from Dinesh Chandimal.

The game was affected by rain and the required total for Kerala was revised to 91 runs from eight overs. Chadwick Walton and Kevin Pollard's power hitting ensured that Kerala got to their target in just 6.1 overs.

Walton struck an unbeaten 21-ball 47 while Pollard was even more destructive with the bat, hitting a 12-ball 40 to drive Kerala to the semis.

Shakib did not bat or bowl against Team Sri Lanka. Kerala Kings will play Marathi Arabians in the first semi final today.
