Bangladesh's ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan returned from IPL duties with Sunrisers Hyderabad and having reached the final, Shakib was satisfied that the team did well but regretted not having taken advantage of some good starts with the bat to score big runs.

Sunrisers were defeated in the final of the franchise tournament by Chennai Super Kings by eight wickets yesterday. Shakib had a decent outing for the Sunrisers outfit as he came good in crucial matches either with the bat or with the ball. His price tag of just RS 2 crore made him the bargain buy of the tournament. The all-rounder took 14 wickets during the tournament and scored 239 runs.

A 32-ball 35 against Royal Challengers Bangalore and a cameo of 27 runs against his former team Kolkata Knight Riders -- both the innings coming in a challenging period of the game, showcased the excellent all-round capabilities of the 31-year old.

However, Shakib regretted not having gone on to make good on his bright starts.

"The IPL went well but could have gone better," Shakib stated with a tinge of regret.

"Overall, I am satisfied that the team got the results and also personally it went well for me. But there is dissatisfaction too and that is because after starting well in every match, I did not score big runs," Shakib stated.

Shakib will leave for Dehradun along with the rest of the Tigers on May 29 for the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan with the first T20I being scheduled for June 3.
