Shakib seeks help for Rohingya refugees

Bangladesh Cricketer Shakib Al Hasan visits Rohingya camps in the Bangladesh-Myanmar border and urges people to help out the victims.

The premier all-rounder, who took a break from Test cricket is a Unicef Goodwill ambassador and visited the Rohingya refugees to see their situation first hand.

 

Shakib shared a video from UNICEF Bangladesh on his official website where he said: "I am at this Rohingya camp and I arrived here with Unicef. I have gone around the camp and have seen the plight of these people.

"I want everyone to help out and I know that a lot of foreign countries have offered their help already and Bangladesh are trying their level best to take care of the situation but they need a lot of help still…there are a lot of children and women here and I sincerely hope you will reach out a helping hand.

"To help out, please go to the Unicef site and click on the donate button and help the people in need," the cricketer concluded.

According to Unicef, 436,000 Rohingyas have fled from Myanmar Rakhine state since the outbreak of violence.
