We will definitely step aside but there is a process: Naimur

Cricketers' Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB) president Naimur Rahman said that he is willing to step aside from his post if that's what the players demand but mentioned that it should be done through a process.

Bangladesh cricketers including the likes of Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah Riyad and others put forward an 11-point demand in front of the media and annouced a strike during a press conference in Mirpur yesterday.

One of the demands from the national cricketers stated that the president, Naimur and the general secretary, Debabrata Paul of CWAB must step aside and the players would be choosing the next president and secretary.

"I know there is no certain limit of improvement or development in any field. One can always improve and do better. May be we could have done better and I think with whatever we did till now, they are not satisfied with it and as a result wanted us to step down.

"But it is not something that can be done at any time. There is a process. We will definitely step aside. CWAB is an association that includes both current and former players. So whatever the association decides, we will accept it but there is a process." said Naimur to the media today.

It was also mentioned during the press briefing that CWAB could only fight for players' demands and needs with the BCB but it is the board that holds the ultimate power of taking any decisions.

General Secretary, Debabrata also thought that they were 75 to 80 per cent successful during their tenure.

"We have had successes during our tenure and also we had some failures. No one can be 100 per cent successful and we also could not be 100 per cent successful. We think we were 75 to 80 per cent successful." said Debabrata.
