Under-19s go 1-0 up

Bangladesh Under-19 took a 1-0 lead in the five-match Youth ODI series against their Sri Lankan counterparts by beating the home side by eight runs in the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method in the second match in Dambulla yesterday.

Rain reduced the match to a 43-overs-a-side affair and Sri Lanka scored 142 for nine, with Paranavithana making 83. Shahin Alam claimed four wickets for 43 runs.

In reply, Bangladesh reached 101 for one in 20.4 overs before rain stopped the match.

The first match was abandoned due to rain. The third match will take place in Dambulla tomorrow.
