Members of the Bangladesh preliminary Test team started their preparation formally for the upcoming two-match series against West Indies at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium today.

The remaining cricketers from the Test squad who are currently in the Bangladesh ODI squad for the ongoing three match ODI series opted to take rest ahead of their second match tomorrow as it was an optional training day today.

The three pace bowlers from the Test squad in Abu Jayed Rahi, Khaled Ahmed, and Ebadat Hossain have been training regularly since they have been staying in the academy premises of the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.

Russell Domingo along with all the other members of the coaching group guided the Test squad members, who are not part of the ODI set-up during the training.

The members of the Test squad are expected to enter the bio-bubble on January 20 where the first of the two match Test series is set to begin from February 3 in Chattogram.

It has come as a relief for the Tigers team management as Test skipper Mominul Haque along with another injured off spinner Nayeem Hasan are expected to be available from the first Test.

Both Mominul and Nayeem looks to be fine and they will be okay before the opening game,'' Tigers head coach Russell Domingo told the media.

Mominul suffered a thumb injury while fielding in a match for Gazi group Chattogram against Gemcon Khulna in the Bangabandhu Twenty20 Cup on November 28 and later underwent a surgery in Dubai on December 8.

On the other hand off spinner Nayeem who suffered a fracture on the little finger of his right hand while fielding during the Bangabandhu T20 Cup and was eventually ruled out from the tournament.
