Six U-19 players named in BCB XI

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has named the BCB XI for the two-day practice match against touring Zimbabwe, scheduled to be held at BKSP from 18th to 19th February. As many as six U-19 players who recently won the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup in South Africa, has been included in the squad.

The U-19s left for South Africa on January 3 to play the World Cup  and played two warm-up matches in January 13th and 15th respectively before beginning their campaign with a win against Zimbabwe U-19s on January 18th. They have been playing continuously over the last month and their campaign came to and end when they clinched the tight final against India on February 9. Akbar Ali-led side returned home on February 13th amidst huge celebrations and after a tiring week they have to now prepare for the warm-up matches against Zimbabwe.

Akbar Ali, Mohammad Parvez Hossain Emon, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Shoriful Islam, Shahadat Hossain and U-19s opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim were included in the squad.

Mohammad Naim Sheikh and Aminul Islam Biplob, who played the T20I series in Pakistan have also been named in the 13-member squad.
