A cameo 10-ball 32 from Shuvagata Hom helped Shinepukur Cricket Club to a five-wicket win against Legends of Rupganj in the inaugural match of the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) T20 tournament at Fatullah today.

After being asked to bat, Rupganj posted 115 for five in 13 overs thanks to a Shahriar Nafees's 24-ball 46-run knock. In reply, Shinepukur got off to a solid start but lost a few quick wickets with the pressure building on the batsmen. Hom came to the rescue with his cameo that contained two fours and three sixes to get Shinepukur back on track. 10 runs were needed off five deliveries when Delwar Hossain struck a six and a four to ensure a five-wicket win with three deliveries to spare.

In another match, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi ran out winners against Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity by 11 runs, courtesy of Shahidul Islam's four-wicket haul at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.

Batting first, Sheikh Jamal posted 169 for five with Nasir Hossain (34) and Nurul Hasan (43) combining in a 65-run fourth-wicket stand. Khelaghar got off to a solid start with opener Robiul Islam Robi scoring 69 off 51 deliveries. Shahidul bagged quick wickets to bring his side back into the match as Khelaghar managed 158 for five in 20 overs, falling short by 11 runs.

Paceman Manik Khan bagged a hattrick for Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club -- becoming the second bowler to bag a hattrick on T20 debut in after Aliss Al Islam – as the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) T20 match between Prime Doleshwar and BKSP ended in a scintillating tie.
