The first two matches of the Super League stage of the ongoing Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division T20 League (BDPL) in Mirpur and one match of the relegation league in Savar were abandoned due to incessant rain in the capital on Saturday.

Following the first leg of the tournament, the Super League stage of the BDPL kicked off today with Prime Doleshwar's game against Gazi Group at 9:00 am at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.

However, following the toss, only nine deliveries were played as Doleshowar scored 8 runs in 1.3 overs without losing a wicket after being asked to bat. Rain interrupted proceedings after that and forced the game to be abandoned with Doleshwar and Gazi Group sharing points.

The following Super League game between Prime Bank and Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club at the same venue was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Meanwhile, at BKSP 3, the relegation league game between Legends of Rupganj and Partex Sporting Club was also called off after the toss. Rupganj won the toss and elected to bat but the game did not go underway due to heavy rain.

The matches that were abandoned without a ball being bowled will be rescheduled soon.

Arch-rivals Mohammedan Sporting Club and Abahani Limited are scheduled to lock horns in day's final Super League encounter in Mirpur at 6:30pm but the fate of the game remains uncertain due to wet outfield and hostile weather.
