Former Bangladesh opener Nafees Iqbal has tested positive for coronavirus. Nafees, who is the older brother of Bangladesh ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal, has confirmed the news through a voice message to the media.

Nafees, who sought prayers for his quick recovery, also informed that he is now in good health despite testing positive.

"I am not being able to attend calls from most of you . But I really appreciate that everyone is inquiring about my health and that all of you are praying for me. I know you all love me and likewise I do too. I had the first symptom 10 days ago. I had body aches with fever which lasted for 2-3 days. After that I did the coronavirus test and it came out positive after two days. I was very weak initially but I am doing well now. Please pray for me so that no more complications arise. I am staying at my home being isolated," informed Nafees to the media.

The 34-year-old, whose international career ended prematurely, featured in 11 Tests and 16 ODIs for Bangladesh.
