Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim visited his hometown Bogura yesterday to spend some time with his family before leaving for the Sri Lanka tour next month. However, the 33-year-old, known as the most hardworking cricketer among his teammates, did not stop practicing as he completed practice sessions with the local boys at his home ground Shaheed Chandu Stadium from 11:30am to 2:30pm today.

"Since the pandemic started he [Mushfiqur] has not come home. After almost 7 months, Mushfiqur came home to meet his mother before leaving the country for the upcoming Sri Lanka tour," said Mushfiqur's father Mahbub Hamid.

The former Bangladesh skipper came home yesterday and will be departing Bogura next Sunday, Mushfiqur's father informed The Daily Star.

Mushfiqur posted a video of him practicing at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium with a caption reading, "Probably the best turf wicket in our country. Had a great time...Alhamdulillah!"

Mushfiqur will continue his practice till August 29 on this ground, sources informed.
