Bangladesh star batsman Mushfiqur Rahim announced in a Facebook Live video today that he would be starting his own foundation. Mushfiqur, who is celebrating the 15th anniversary of his Test debut, thanked everyone who has supported him during his career and said he wanted to give something back.

May 26 marks the day when a 16-year-old Mushfiqur made his debut against England in the Lord's Test. The cricketer has grown from strength to strength, showing immense discipline in the last 15 years to become the most dependable batsman in the country. During a Facebook Live broadcast, Mushfiqur talked about being grateful to those that helped him in his journey.

"I thank my family, my wife, my teachers, all the coaches, teammates, media, BCB [Bangladesh Cricket Board] and all the supporters who prayed for me and our cricket.

"This is a time where I feel I have a lot to give back and I have taken a few steps to that end. The first step is to build my dream -- MR15 foundation. I am going to launch it soon," the cricketer said on Tuesday night.

Mushfiqur will be following in the footsteps of teammates Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Shakib Al Hasan who have been helping through their foundations during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Mushfiqur called upon the fans to design a logo for his foundation and also announced that he would personally select five of the logo designs and invite the designers to dinner with him at a five-star hotel. The person whose logo will be selected for the foundation will get a signed jersey from Mushfiqur and his logo will be used for activities related to MR15 foundation.
