Sylhet Thunders batsman Mohammad Mithun smashed the first fifty of the ongoing Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BBPL). The right-hander's magnificent unbeaten 48-ball 84 helped Sylhet post a challenging 162 for four against Chattogram Challengers at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur today.

Mithun becomes the first local to hog the spotlight in the BBPL which has already been touted by the Banglaesh Cricket Board (BCB) as a splendid platform for locals to prove their mettle ahead of the T20 World Cup in October 2020.

Mithun strung together a 96-run stand with Mosaddek Hossain (29 off 35) for the fourth wicket after Sylhet had lost three wickets inside the first 10 overs. The 28-year old looked exquisite throughout the innings, smashing four boundaries and five maximum to reach his career best score in BPL.
