With Tamim Iqbal set to start his stint as the new ODI captain of Bangladesh, former captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza hailed the new skipper's determination and wished the national side for a new beginning.

Mashrafe, who stepped down from captaincy last year during Zimbabwe's tour of Bangladesh is like a big brother to many in the squad. Tomorrow is going to be a special day for Tamim as the captain, and Mashrafe wanted to wish him the best.

"Bringing an end to the wait of the Bangladesh cricket fans, their favourite cricket team will take the field tomorrow. My good wishes for the whole team.

"Special love and prayers for "Tamim Iqbal Khan." I pray that like always, he will overcome all pressure and return with victory. Good wishes for a new beginning.

"Only one sound – (Bangladesh)," Mashrafe wrote on Facebook.
