Gazi group skipper Mahmudullah Riyad has been fined Taka 20,000 for breach of Level 2 offence of the BCB code of conduct during their game against Prime Bank in Mirpur yesterday in the Super League stage of the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division T20 League.

Mahmudullah displayed dissatisfaction over the umpire's decision after his team was denied a caught-behind appeal.

The incident took place in the penultimate delivery of the 16th over during Prime Bank's innings. Gazi Group cricketers appealed loudly after Nasum Ahmed's delivery beat the outside edge of Prime Bank's veteran player Alok Kapali, but despite such a vocal appeal, the umpire denied it.

And that's when Mahmudullah apparently lost his cool and punched the ground before rolling on the floor. The experienced cricketer, visibly dissatisfied with the umpire's decision, was then seen sitting on the ground for a while before getting up and taking his position in the field.

"He [Mahmudullah] has been fined Taka 20,000 for his breach of Level 2 offence of the BCB Code of Conduct," confirmed match referee Raqibul Hasan to The Daily Star today.

Gazi Group ended up losing the low-scoring thriller by two wickets.
