Bangladesh national team players have had a few virtual meetings with coach Russell Domingo and his staff during the pandemic. The Tigers will come across a new face in their next virtual meeting on Wednesday in former India coach Gary Kirsten.

Kirsten, who had been appointed by Bangladesh as a consultant and had overseen the selection of Steve Rhodes as head coach in 2018 has agreed to join the Tigers' meeting at the request of compatriot Domingo.

Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB) Cricket Operations Chariman Akram Khan confirmed the news to The Daily Star on Monday night. Kirsten coached India to the World Cup title at home soil in 2011.

Following a break of a couple of months, a few of the Bangladesh national players had begun individual practice at BCB's facilities across the country amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Even prior to that, the national players had been participating in online meetings seeking the help of Domingo, Daniel Vettori, Otis Gibson and others.
