First day washed out

The first day play of the second four-dayer between the Bangladesh High Performance (HP) team and their Sri Lankan counterparts was called off due to persistent rain throughout the day at the Sheikh Kamal International Stadium in Cox's Bazar yesterday.

Match referee Debabrata Paul informed The Daily Star yesterday not even the toss could was held due to rain with the match eventually being called off in the afternoon.

"It was raining since the morning. The match was called off at 2:15 pm as the ground was very wet and there was no way the match could be played. Tomorrow we will try to make up for the lost time as we want to start the match at 9:00am instead of 9:30am," said Paul.
