Farhad Reza strikes fastest fifty

In a rain-affected thriller between against Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, Farhad Reza struck the fastest fifty in Dhaka Premier League with a scorching innings today.

He has been in fantastic form with the ball and this time he showed his mettle with the bat, scoring an 18-ball 50 -- the fastest fifty ever scored in the DPL. The match was shortened to 26 overs following rain and after impressive knocks from Imran Uzzaman (75) and Saad Nasim (51), Reza played a blinding 56-run knock off just 20 deliveries, hitting three fours and six sixes. In the 25th over he hit three successive sixes off Taijul Islam to notch the record before falling on the last delivery of the over but only after accomplishing a strike-rate of 280.

Prime Doleshwar posted 239/6 on the board and with Sheikh Jamal needing 11 off the last over, Farhad Reza came and defended the runs as Doleshwar clinched a 1-run win.
