The Bangladesh Premier League Dhaka phase has seen low turnouts since the tournament began but that changed with the first weekend match of the season as Mashrafe Bin Mortaza's Rangpur Riders and Shakib Al Hasan's Dhaka Dynamites -- the two finalists of last season -- came face to face.

Crowd turned up in droves as it became difficult to even walk without obstruction as people made it towards the stadium entrance. After the game started, there were still a lot of bystanders, looking for a ticket.

The crowd inside were not disappointed as Kieron Polard treated them to a tasty 26-ball 62-run knock. Captain Shakib Al Hasan too played his part to pull his side out of trouble after a couple of early wickets as Dynamites posted 183 for 9 on the board against the defending champions Rangpur.
