Emerging Teams Asia Cup: Bangladesh to host again

Bangladesh is set to host another edition of the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup. The tournament had reappeared in 2017 with Bangladesh also playing host.

The tournament was jointly-hosted by Sri Lanka and Pakistan last year. The eight-team tournament is scheduled from November 12. However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is yet to confirm the venues.

Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be playing with their respective under-23 teams while Afghanistan, UAE, Oman and Hong Kong will play their respective national sides.

The Bangladesh team for the Emerging Cup will be formed with cricketers from the High-Performance (HP) unit, most of whom are participating in the ongoing elite players' skills camp.

Test-playing nations can have four national cricketers aged above 23 in the squad but will be allowed to field only three in the playing eleven.

"We have the Emerging Teams Asia Cup, which is going to take place from November 12-25 and the team will be formed with cricketers from the HP unit. We also plan to tour Sri Lanka in August if the security situation gets better there. We are going to play two four-day matches and three one-day games in Sri Lanka," BCB's game development manager AEM Kawser informed yesterday.
