The penultimate phase of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) closed with Shakib Al Hasan's Dhaka Dynamites becoming the last team to ensure a spot in the final four following a six-wicket win over Khulna Titans in the final match of the group phase at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur yesterday.

In the day's first game, defending champions Rangpur Riders outplayed Comilla Victorians and registered a comprehensive nine-wicket win. Mashrafe Bin Mortaza's side chased down Comilla's paltry 72-run total -- their second-lowest in BPL history -- in just 9.3 overs.

It was the second match however that everyone had their eyes on. The equation was simple, a win for Dhaka would see them through to the Qualifiers courtesy of their superior run-rate while a defeat would see Rajshahi Kings advance.

However, Dhaka held their nerve and managed a comfortable win in chase of a 124-run target to get a ticket to the next phase.

Upul Tharanga top-scored for Dhaka with 42 off 30 while his opening partner Sunil Narine scored a quickfire 35 off just 13 balls to help Dhaka chase the low total.
