BCB XI start strong in semi

BCB XI started strong against Chhattisgarh State Cricket Sangh in the semifinal of the Dr. (Capt) K. Thimmappaiah Memorial multi-day All India Cricket Tournament, also known as the 'mini Ranji Trophy', ending the first day of the four-day match on 254 for three.

Having won the toss and opting to bat first, openers Jahurul Islam and Saif Hasan put on 154 runs before the latter was sent back in the 51st over after scoring 60 with the help of seven boundaries.

Jahurul retired hurt for 92 soon afterwards, having hit six fours and five sixes. Mominul Haque and Yasir Ali took to the field to build on the foundation set by the openers. Skipper Mominul missed out on a half-century as he was dismissed for 49, ending an 86-run partnership with Yasir.

Sanjamul Islam was the next to go without troubling the scorers as Bangladesh ended the day with Yasir and Najmul Hossain Shanto batting on 50 and 0 respectively.
