Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) came forward to support the other sports federations of the country during the current coronavirus outbreak worldwide.

BCB president Nazmul Hassan today handed over 501 cheques of Taka ten thousand each to State Minister for the Ministry of Youth & Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell as part of the BCB's initiative to support sportspersons affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

The cheques were distributed to sportsmen and women of 23 sports federations under the National Sports Council other than cricket.

Meanwhile Sri Lanka Cricket CEO recently informed that they are confident of hosting Bangladesh to play three Tests which are part of the World Test Championship.

BCB boss however informed that things are still not clear and said that the board will observe the situation before taking a final decision.

"Look it's not just that if they want to host, it will happen, it will depend on whether we are be able to send our team or if it will be right to send our players at this moment. These are not simple decisions as things might be better now but it can change after a month. We will observe the others on what the ICC and the ACC decides along with the other countries. So far none of them were able to set a date on when the game will start again. It won't be right to think that we will be the first one," Hassan told the media.
