BCCI President-elect Sourav Ganguly is confident that the Bangladesh players will sort the issue with the board and play the upcoming T20I and Test series in India.

"It is their internal matter, but they will sort it out, they will come," Ganguly smiled, when asked if there was any threat to the series.

Senior players such as Shakib Al Hasan, Musfiqur Rahim, Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudullah Riyad appeared before the media yesterday to convey that they have boycotted all cricketing activities and until their 11-point demands are met, the players' strike will carry on.

Ganguly was measured in his response to questions over whether he will talk to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), insisting that he will not meddle as this does not fall under his jurisdiction. Nevertheless he said that he will keep in touch with the BCB.

"It is their internal matter. I speak to the BCB, but this doesn't come under me," he was quoted as saying by Times of India.

Many in the Indian cricket board feel that President-elect Sourav Ganguly's cordial relations with both players and officials in Bangladesh cricket might help in salvaging the situation.

The Tigers are scheduled to tour India in November for a three-match T20I series which will be followed by a two-match Test series.
