Tanzid guides Bangladesh U-19s to final

Opener Tanzid Hasan struck 113-ball 117 as Bangladesh Under-19s beat England Under-19s by 72 runs at the Toby Howe Cricket Ground in Billericay yesterday.

The victory saw Bangladesh Under-19s book a place in the final of the tri-nation series—featuring Under-19 team of Bangladesh, India and England.

The Young Tigers posted a challenging 224 total in 47.1 overs and dismissed their opponents for 152 runs in 39 overs.

Earlier, after being asked to bat, Bangladesh got a decent start following the early dismissal of Parvez Hossain in the third over, when the young Tigers were on 18. After that, opener Tanzid strung together a 108-run second-wicket stand with Mahmudul Hasan and another 78-run third-wicket partnership with Towhid Hridoy.SCORES IN BRIEF

England Under-19s: 152 all out in 39 overs (Haynes 40, Bean 30; Tanzim 3-28, Rakibul 3-19, Shahin 2-29, Chwodhury 2-23)

Result: Bangladesh Under-19s won by 72 runs.
