Anamul, Rony shine for Prime Bank, Tanzid smashes OLD DOHS

Anamul Haque and Rony Talukdar were amongst the runs while Nahidul Islam and Rubel Hossain bagged wickets as Prime Bank swept aside Legends of Rupganj by a huge margin of 101 runs at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur today.

Sent in to bat, Tamim Iqbal managed 12 off 20 before departing in the fifth over but other opener Rony was in fire as he and Anamul put on a 67-run partnership for the second wicket. Rony left in the 13th over after a 31-ball 53, laced with five fours and three sixes. Prime Bank skipper Anamul remained unbeaten on 58 off 46 deliveries with two fours and five sixes to bolster his innings. Amit Majumdar's cameo 3-ball 11 saw Prime Bank reach 169 for 5. In reply, only three Rupganj batters reached double figures as Nahidul bagged three for 15 and Rubel Hossain and Nayeem Hasan bagged two each to skittle Rupganj out for 68.

Courtesy of the win, Prime Bank rose to the top of the standings with 12 points. 

At BKSP's Ground 4, Imran Uzzaman's 46-ball 65 and Shamim Hossain's 19-ball 49 took Prime Doleshwar to 166 for 5. Imran laced his knock with four fours and four sixes while Shamim hit two fours and five sixes during his knock. In reply, middle order pair of Tanbir Hyder and Ziaur Rahman were on hand to guide Sheikh Jamal to victory. Tanbir remained unbeaten on 34-ball 45 while Ziaur struck 33-ball 53, laced with one four and five sixes before falling in the penultimate over as the match went down to the wire. Sohrowordi Shuvo (9) got the winning single in the final delivery of the 20th over to seize a three-wicket victory for Sheikh Jamal. Kamrul Islam Rabbi bagged four wickets for 24 runs for Prime Doleshwar.

At BSKP Ground 3, Tanzid Hasan Tamim's unbeaten 59-ball 79 saw Shinepukur Cricket Club quite easily coast past the target of 120 set by Old DOHS to win by seven wickets.
