ICC World Cup 2019 Bites: 27 Days to Go

Altered jersey unveiled

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officially revealed a revised design for the Bangladesh Cricket team jersey yesterday. The Tigers will don their new colours during the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup in England and Wales.

The initial solid green design, revealed last Sunday, received backlash as it did not include the colour red, which was more or less a staple in past jerseys. In a press release, the BCB explained their decision and why they subsequently altered it.

"The country name, player name and number was originally printed in red on the green shirt before being sent to the ICC for approval. The BCB was then advised to use white instead for prominence. Accordingly, the writings on the green shirt were changed to white," the statement read. "Subsequently, to keep a red impression, the BCB made one change to the green shirt with the inclusion of a red strip on the front. This has since received the ICC's approval."
